Weekend in Tucson

We had our first family vacation in Tucson last weekend, which was great. Mitch was busy playing golf and Carsten and I had lunch and went on walks. We also spent our Sat morning at the spa, while I got a pedicure. It was risky, but he was perfect. The weather was glorious and the shopping was great. It was good to try a mini-vacation and see how we did packing and being somewhere else.

How time flies....

2 months already I can't believe Carsten is already 2 months old. He doesn't even look like the same baby from when he was born. Carsten is a very happy baby and smiles often, ecspecially at daddy. He also is starting to laugh a little, that is only for daddy and nana. He is getting chunkier and chunkier everyday. Boedy, Carsten and I took a nice walk this morning. It is absolutely beautiful right now, so it is great to be outside. Tomorrow we are going to a farmer's market in the neighborhood, which will be fun. On Sunday we are over to nana and papa's house because they are leaving soon back to MN and they can't get enough of the little boy.

Carsten's Musical Heart

I just want to let you know what is going on with our life with Carsten. We had an appt with the pediatric cardiologist to check on his heart and he has a mild form of pulmonary valve stenosis. I have included a link below if you want to learn more about it. The Dr. said he can live a normal life and it does not change his abillity to be an active kid, or his quality of life. It is good to hear he won't have any restrictions and can do all the sports Mitch has already mapped out for him.

This is something Carsten will have his whole life. As he continues to grow, usually the valve will grow too, but the valve will never be perfect and this is something that he doesn't outgrow. We will need to continue to go to the dr. throughout his life to follow-up and just make sure it doesn't change. The dr. mentioned most kids go from a mild case to less than mild.

He was a trooper and had an EKG and an ultrasound. He will need to go back within 3 months and have a follow-up. Most likely if needed, he will need to take antibiotics before he goes to the dentist. Good thing his daddy is his dentist. http://www.cnn.com/HEALTH/library/DS/00610.html

He is getting to be a big boy and now weighs 12.1lbs and is 23.5 inches long.

Windy Day

It was kinda chilly today, which is odd. Carsten had a dr. appt this morning because I thought he was getting a cold from his cousin Drew, but he is fine. I guess I am just a cautious mother. We then ran some errands and had a wardrobe malfunction in the car parking lot. It was a disaster trying to change a poop explosion that was all up his back and over his clothes. Did I mention I did this in the back seat of a car. I was laughing when it was done and told myself.....ahhh, I am truly a mother.

There is a porch party tonight on our block, so we will need to pick up some beverages. It will be nice to get out and visit with some neighbors. Okay, I need to try and pick up the house while Carsten is sleeping
